Day 6 of the great family road trip from Dallas/Fort Worth through Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado began in Estes Park with some touristy shopping, and a down to Fort Collins to visit grandparents, great-grandparents, and cousins.
We took the kids to the Lee Martinez Farm which is a cute little petting zoo. It was a quiet day with no crowds to fight and the kids loved feeding the animals. A great place to let the kids run around and stretch their legs.
Grady had so much fun dancing and singing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" (without any prompting from us either!).
I love this bench.
After dinner we headed to the Holiday Twin Drive-In movie theater, which my pictures do not do justice too. Two movie screens are nestled in the mountains. Locals may not appreciate the beauty, but to a current Texas resident, anything surrounded by mountains is gorgeous.
With a car full of camping gear, chairs, coolers, blankets, the drive-in movie made perfect sense, and it was nice to not have to persuade the kids to sit still and remain quiet. Everyone made it through the first movie, and slept through the second one.
All-in-all a nice quiet relaxing day with the grandparents.
Have you been to a drive-in movie theater recently?
