New Mexico / Colorado Road Trip Day 1 - Amarillo Texas Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum

Day 1 of our family road trip started in Amarillo at the Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum

Located at the back of the RV store, the 7,000 square foot museum has been open for a few years and continues to grow as the owners acquire more vintage RV’s and motorcycles.  The kids and the adults alike loved this museum.

Most of the RV’s are open allowing visitors to walk inside and sit on the couch or bed and imagine life was it was, or could be. An employee at the museum said “ these RV’s have had people walking in and out of them for decades, so the museum guests should be allowed to as well!”

At the back of the museum is an old gas pump, cash register, and phone that the kids enjoyed playing with. We could have played “gas station” for hours!

An added bonus, this museum is indoors and is a great respite from the hot Texas sun.

A word of warning… a visit to this museum will leave you wanting to buy (or at least rent) an RV for your next vacation!
